With just seven days to go before the election, another error by the Electoral Commission of Ghana has raised concerns. Dr. Omane Boamah, a leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called out the EC for a shortfall in ballot papers in the Volta Region.

According to Dr. Boamah, the NDC’s #EAGLEEYES team observed the printing and bagging process at Act Commercial printing house and found that the Electoral Commission made an avoidable error. The team’s brief states that the ballot statistics submitted to the printhouse were complied with, which raises questions about how the shortfall occurred.

Dr. Boamah is urging the Electoral Commission to explain the cause of the error and not sweep it under the carpet. He’s also attending the IPAC meeting to bring attention to the issue affecting the Volta Region.

This latest error has added to concerns about the credibility of the electoral process. Dr. Boamah and the NDC are calling for transparency and accountability to ensure a free and fair election.
