The Ghana Police Service has resolved an incident involving a broken seal on one of the electoral material bags in Koforidua. The bag, intended for distribution to one of the constituencies within the Eastern Region, was found to have a broken seal when it was removed from the armoury.
Investigations revealed that the broken seal occurred due to the packing and unpacking of the bags. The contents of the bag were found to be intact, and this was confirmed by stakeholders, including the Electoral Commission and representatives of the political parties who witnessed the incident.
The Ghana Police Service resolved the incident. This incident comes on the heels of other efforts by the Electoral Commission to ensure the credibility of the elections.
