Ghanaian international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has taken the first step towards recovery after undergoing successful surgery to address the severe injury he sustained during Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifier against Angola.
The Leicester City winger suffered the injury in the first half, forcing his substitution and subsequently ruling him out of Ghana’s final Group F game against Niger. Issahaku traveled to England for further assessment and treatment, where the extent of the injury was confirmed.
The diagnosis revealed that Issahaku requires a lengthy recovery period of 6-9 months following ACL surgery. Despite this setback, the Ghanaian international remains optimistic, taking to social media to update his fans.
“All glory be to Almighty Allah,” Issahaku posted on Instagram. “My surgery was successful, and I just want to tell you that I am okay and I am feeling good after the surgery. I want to thank everyone for your best wishes.”
Issahaku’s determination and resilience will be crucial in his journey back to full fitness. His absence will undoubtedly be felt on the pitch, but teammates and fans alike eagerly await his return.
As Issahaku embarks on his road to recovery, his positive attitude and unwavering faith will inspire fans and serve as a testament to his strength and dedication to the sport.
