In a thrilling and highly anticipated election held today in Chicago, Oheneba Nana Kwame Frimpong emerged victorious as the new Asantefuohene of Chicago. He triumphed over formidable opponents Nana Yaw Afriyie Adade and Nana Kwabena Osei, also known as Tacoma, to secure the prestigious position.

The lineage of leadership began with Elder Edu Darkwa, who was elected as the organization’s first president. The mantle of the first elected chief was then taken up by Nana Attakora Amaniampong. Following him were:

  • Nana Wiafe Ababio
  • Nana Akwasi Appiah
  • Nana Akwesi Addai
  • Nana Addai Baffour

And now, the esteemed Oheneba Nana Kwame Frimpong continues this proud tradition as the sixth Asantefuohene of Chicago.

The excitement didn’t stop there. In the race for Asantefuohemaa of Chicago, Nana Afia Durowaa claimed victory over Nana Akosua Pomaa. Despite her defeat, Nana Pomaa will serve as the assistant to the new Queen, ensuring a collaborative leadership.

Additionally, Nana Afia Serwaah won the title of Sanaahemaa elect, defeating Nana Ama Serwaah Amaniampong in a closely contested election.

Social media is abuzz with videos showing the newly elected Asantefuohene and Hemaa dancing Adowa amidst a sea of wildly cheering supporters. Their joyous celebration marks the beginning of their four-year term, with the possibility of serving an additional four years, adhering to a two-term limit.
