Later that year, she was deployed to Afghanistan, where she served as the Role 2E Hospital Commander, overseeing 120 Soldiers, Airmen, NATO Coalition Soldiers, and Department of Defense Contractors. Her responsibilities extended to providing medical oversight to five locations across Afghanistan. After a successful 10-month deployment, she returned to the 108th Sustainment Brigade as the S1 Officer and has since served in several key positions, including Battalion Executive Officer and Brigade Training Officer. Beyond her military achievements, Nikki is celebrated as a Mother, Sister, Army Officer, Serial Entrepreneur, and Mentor. She is a cherished friend within both the Ghanaian and Nigerian communities and credits her success to her faith in Islam, her parents’ prayers, her late sister Sinat Giwa’s love, and the unwavering support of her siblings. Her extended family in the HASKE RASULOOLAH Community, Haske Premier Ladies, and Boys Boys have also played a pivotal role in shaping her into the remarkable leader she is today.
On this Veterans Day, we salute MAJ Alhaja Giwa Falana for her outstanding service, her unwavering commitment to her community, and her exemplary leadership.
