In a proactive move to promote early detection and education on breast health, the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection extended its breast cancer awareness and screening initiative to school children. On October 29, 2024, students at the Kingsway Cluster of Schools in Kaneshie participated in an interactive session, led by Minister Honorable Dakoa Newman.
This outreach, following successful events at Nsawam Prison and Kaneshie Market Complex, demonstrates the Ministry’s commitment to public health and its comprehensive approach to awareness. By engaging diverse groups, including school children, the Ministry aims to foster a culture of preventive health measures, supporting Ghana’s broader public health goals.
During the session, students gained valuable knowledge on:
- Importance of early screening
- Prevention practices
- Breast health awareness
This initiative empowers young minds, encouraging healthy habits and responsible decision-making. By targeting various groups, the Ministry ensures a widespread impact, promoting a culture of preventive care.
The Ministry’s efforts coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, emphasizing the significance of early detection and education. By starting the conversation early, Ghana’s youth are equipped to prioritize their health and well-being, shaping a healthier future.
