Tonight at 7:30 pm, John Dramani Mahama, the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), will address Ghanaians about the party’s plans to reset the country for good governance and accountability. Mahama strongly believes that Ghana’s governance is at a critical juncture, with injustice and economic hardships plaguing millions of citizens.

In his address, Mahama will highlight the NDC’s initiatives to enhance accountability and tackle the country’s socio-economic challenges. This comes on the heels of the NDC LAB Policy Dialogue, where the party refined its policy proposals for the 2024 manifesto.

Mr. Mahama has emphasized the need for urgent rebuilding, citing Ghana’s worsening economic situation, with unemployment at 14.7% and nearly 1.4 million young people aged 15-35 without jobs. He has outlined over 60 policy proposals since 2021, including the 24-hour economy policy, aimed at boosting productivity, reducing imports, and creating well-paying jobs.

The NDC’s plans also include:

  • Digital Jobs Initiative:- Creating 300,000 skilled employment opportunities for young people
  • FinTech Growth Funds:- Supporting indigenous companies with an initial seed capital of USD 50 million
  • Coding for Employment Programme:- Training one million coders with in-demand digital skills

Mahama has assured Ghanaians that the NDC is prepared to address the country’s challenges, with a clear plan and strategy in place. He has also pledged to protect citizens’ votes and ensure the election outcome reflects the true wishes of the people. Tonight’s Governance Forum is expected to shed more light on the NDC’s vision for a better Ghana.
