President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will commission Ghana’s Cardinal Namdini Mining project in early November 2024. Lands Minister Samuel A. Jinapor made the announcement during his October 24 tour of the Upper East Region’s Talensi District.

Located in Talensi, Cardinal Namdini Mining Ltd. will become Ghana’s third-largest mining company and a continental giant. Jinapor praised the company’s consistency and his ministry’s and Minerals Commission’s roles.

“This historic project consolidates Ghana’s status as a leading global gold producer and strengthens our position as Africa’s mining hub,” Jinapor said.

Project Manager Steve Ofori highlighted the company’s investment in modern, environmentally friendly equipment and regulatory approvals.

Paramount Chief Kugbilsong Nanlebeglang welcomed the project, anticipating local employment opportunities, development and responsible mining practices.

The project promises significant economic contributions, job creation and regional growth. Its commissioning marks a milestone in Ghana’s mineral resource utilization.
