The Locked-Up Investment Holders Forum will resume its picketing of the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, in a bid to secure the release of locked-up funds from insolvent financial institutions licensed by the Bank of Ghana.

The forum, led by Convener Dr. Adu A. Antwi, is demanding that the Ministry redirect GHc2.3 billion earmarked for the recapitalization of NIB towards settling the locked-up funds. They also want the unallocated GHc200 million from the GHc4 billion budget provision to be used for this purpose.

To amplify their demands, members will gather at NDK Financial Services premises at 9 am and march to the Ministry of Finance, where they will picket until 12 noon.

The Locked-Up Investment Holders Forum has been advocating for the release of trapped funds from defunct financial institutions, and this protest is the latest effort to pressure the government into action.

As the forum continues its push for justice, the outcome of this protest will be closely watched by affected investors and the wider public.
