The Bank of Ghana has announced robust Anti-Money Laundering/Countering the Financing of Terrorism checks for commercial banks and authorized institutions handling the Ghana Gold Coin. This ensures proceeds from the coin’s sale are not linked to criminal activities.

The central bank has implemented stringent measures to prevent money laundering and ensure compliance with national and international regulations. Additionally, measures are in place to verify the gold’s origin, preventing illegal mining.

The Ghana Gold Coin will be available for purchase by investors within two weeks, marking the central bank’s first issuance of gold coins as an alternative investment asset for the public.
