North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has made shocking revelations about the Akufo-Addo administration’s handling of stadium rehabilitations, despite Ghana’s recent CAF ban.
Ablakwa intercepted payment vouchers showing annual payments to Kelvin Ofori-Atta, President Akufo-Addo’s cousin, for stadium rehabilitation works. The payments, totaling GHS32,261,183.78, were made to Kelvin Ofori-Atta’s companies, Coupbay and Cisdan, between 2019 and 2023.
The MP questioned how Ghana still suffered a CAF ban despite these massive payments, highlighting the conflict of interest in awarding contracts to the President’s cousin.
Mr OKUDZETO Ablakwa vowed to continue his parliamentary oversight, seeking answers on the value for money in these transactions. He expressed eagerness for the implementation of Operation-Recover-All-Loot (ORAL) under President Mahama’s potential administration, to recover squandered taxpayer funds.
