Asuogyaman, Ghana – Pius Hadzide, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Asuogyaman, has intensified his campaign, focusing on youth empowerment and international exposure. Despite his controversial past, including his involvement in the 2017 Australian Visa scandal, Hadzide remains confident in his ability to deliver opportunities for the youth of Asuogyaman, particularly in sports.
In a recent campaign speech, Hadzide highlighted his experience in facilitating international travel, citing his role in assisting individuals to travel to Australia. He emphasized the relatively shorter distance to the United States, host of the 2026 World Cup, and pledged to support the youth of Asuogyaman in traveling abroad for work, education, or exploration.

“I understand the challenges our youth face in accessing international opportunities,” Hadzide said. “As your MP, I will leverage my connections to facilitate visa connections and travel opportunities to destinations like Germany, America, UK, France, and Canada.”
Hadzide’s promise extends beyond the World Cup, as he vows to establish programs for youth empowerment, including sports development initiatives, educational exchanges, and job training. He contrasted his commitment to youth empowerment with his opponent’s perceived failure to assist the youth, urging constituents to support him in the upcoming election.
While some have expressed skepticism about Hadzide’s ability to deliver on his promises, others see his experience and connections as a valuable asset for the youth of Asuogyaman. “We need someone who can open doors for us internationally,” said Emmanuel Owusu, a young resident of Asuogyaman. “If Hadzide can deliver on his promises, it would be a game-changer for our community.”
As the election approaches, Hadzide’s pledge has generated significant interest, with many young people eager to explore opportunities abroad.
Critics however have chastised him for using cheap propaganda to lure unsuspecting youth to vote for him, arguing that his tactics are manipulative and exploit the naivety of young voters. They claim that his promises are often unrealistic and designed to appeal to the hopes and dreams of the youth, without any substantial plan to fulfill them. This approach, they argue, undermines the integrity of the democratic process and misleads the very demographic that is crucial for the future of the nation. Others argue that his controversial past and lack of concrete details on his programs raise concerns about his credibility.
