In a significant move towards inclusivity, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) introduced the major Islamic holidays, Eid-Fitr and Eid Adha, to the Muslim community. Building on this foundation, John Dramani Mahama has pledged to grant the Muslim Ummah an additional Eid holiday. This promise aims to ensure proper inclusion and recognition of the Muslim community’s cultural and religious practices.

As part of his broader campaign message, Mahama emphasized the importance of unity and inclusivity in building a prosperous Ghana. He stated, “Our nation thrives when every community feels valued and included. By recognizing the significance of these holidays, we are taking a step towards a more inclusive society.”

Mahama’s campaign, themed “Building The Ghana We Want Together,” focuses on various reforms aimed at improving governance, reducing hardship, and creating opportunities for all Ghanaians. He has promised to run a lean government, enforce prudent cost-cutting measures, and implement far-reaching constitutional reforms. His commitment to inclusivity is a cornerstone of his vision for a united and prosperous Ghana.
