Ghana Police Service Celebrates Inspector Grace Minta’s Gold Medal Win at World Armwrestling Championship

The Ghana Police Service is beaming with pride as Policewoman Inspector Grace Minta makes history by becoming the first Ghanaian woman to win a gold medal at the World Armwrestling Championship. Held in Moldova, Inspector Minta triumphed in the Women’s 80kg left arm contest, defeating competitors from Sweden, Ukraine, Germany, and Turkey.

This achievement marks the culmination of Inspector Minta’s dominance in African armwrestling, having won the African Championships twice consecutively since 2019. She also secured a double gold at the 2023 African Games held in Ghana.

A dedicated police officer since 2007, Inspector Minta has served in various capacities, including at the Eastern Regional Police Headquarters and the Motor Traffic and Transport Department. Currently stationed at the James Town Police Station, she balances her policing duties with her passion for armwrestling as an active member of the Police Service’s Sports Unit.
