The family of the late veteran broadcaster, Godwin Avenorgbo, met with the National Executives of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Monday , August 26, 2024, to discuss funeral arrangements and other matters arising from his passing.
The meeting, held at the Ghana International Press Centre, was also attended by the Minister of Information, Fatimatu Abubakar, who came to commiserate with the family and sign the Book of Condolence.
GJA President Albert Dwumfour, who was out of the country at the time of Avenorgbo’s demise, paid glowing tribute to the late broadcaster’s memory, celebrating his contributions to the field of journalism.
The meeting aimed to finalize plans for Avenorgbo’s funeral, which is scheduled to take place on September 14, 2024, at the Lashibi Funeral Home near Accra. The family and GJA executives are working together to ensure a fitting tribute to the beloved broadcaster.
