The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has formed a nine-member committee to vet entries and select winners for the 28th Annual GJA Media Awards. Chaired by George-Ramsey Benamba, Chief Editor at the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the committee comprises experienced journalists and media professionals.
Their task is to select winners in 36 award categories, including the newly introduced Akoto Ampaw Award for Democracy & Good Governance, which honors the late private legal practitioner’s dedication to media freedom. Other prestigious categories include the P. A. V. Ansah Journalist of the Year, Best Female Journalist of the Year, Most Promising Journalist of the Year, and Best Student Journalist of the Year.
The awards ceremony, scheduled for September 28, 2024, at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), promises to be a grand event, marking the climax of the GJA’s 75th anniversary. With MTN Ghana returning as a sponsor, the GJA is calling on Corporate Ghana to support the organization of the awards, making it a resounding success.
