Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has emphasized the need for faith-based organisations to work together with the government to achieve Ghana’s development goals. Speaking at the 2nd Biennial Joint Conference of the East, West, and Mid Ghana Conference of the AME Zion Church, he stressed the importance of collective effort in crafting national goals and relying on relevant knowledge and experience.
Dr. Bawumia encouraged Christians to reflect on how their actions and inactions could impact national development, challenging them to complement their faith with diligent work, personal cleanliness, respect for the environment, and holding leadership accountable. He commended the AME Zion Church for their contributions to national development in healthcare, education, advocacy, and social justice.
The Vice President expressed his belief in Ghana’s potential for greatness, emphasizing the need for oneness of mind and open exchange of ideas to achieve accelerated national development. He called on Ghanaians to reject politics of violence and division, instead choosing peace and unity.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Hilliard K. Dela Dogbe, Presiding Bishop of the African A.M.E Zion Church, also emphasized the importance of peaceful politics and choosing leaders based on ideas and solutions to challenges
