President Mahama Pays Tribute to Late Mawuena Trebarh

Former President John Dramani Mahama today, June 18,2024. received a visit from the family of the late Mawuena Adzo Trebarh, née Dumor a sister of late Komla Dumor a renowned broadcaster who died some 10 years ago.

Mawuena who passed away on April 10, 2024, was a trailblazing business executive, investor, and geologist. Notably, she was the first woman to be appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), serving from 2013 to 2017. Additionally, she made history as the first female underground exploration geologist in the Ashanti Region, working alongside a 10,000 male-workforce mine site.

During the visit, President Mahama offered his condolences to the family, particularly Professor Ernest Dumor, Mawuena’s father. He expressed his sympathy and support during this difficult time, praying that Mawuena’s soul may rest in perfect peace.

Mawuena Trebarh’s remarkable achievements and contributions to her field have left a lasting impact. Her passing has left a void in the lives of those who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
