Having started off the match on a high, Phoenix Rising FC took the lead on the 9th minute when Junior Flemmings scored with an assist from Solomon Asante.
Now chasing the game, LA Galaxy tried to get back on level terms but was made to chase the game by the hosts.
With 4 minutes to end the first half, Jon Bakero and Solomon Asante both scored to give their team a 3-0 lead to take into the first half.
