CEANA Commissions Two Big Projects In Ghana.

CEANA Commissioned a 4-Unit Bedroom Nurses Staff Quarters at Adutor and a Pedestrian Footbridge at Agordoe in the Volta Region of Ghana.
The President of the Council of Ewe Associations of North America, Inc (CEANA ) Dr. Tsatsu Nyamadi on Thursday, February 23, 2023, commissioned a 4-unit  bedroom nurses staff quarters at Adutor in the South Tongu district of the Volta Region.
Dr. Tsatsu Nyamadi was assisted by Togbui Agbelom, Chief of Salo, also known as Nana Ofei Asamani I, Nkosuahene of Akwamu Traditional Area. Torgbui is also the official CEANA representative in Ghana.

The CEANA delegation that accompanied the President includes Dr. Peter Nata Abotchie, former President of CEANA and a citizen of Adutor, Mr. Steve Dei-PRO, CEANA, Mad. Irene Alo- President of Ewe Association of Dallas and CEANA COR member, Mr. Kossi Nutekpor – CEANA’s Project Coordinator. Efo Mawuli Agbenu-long time former official MC for all CEANA conventions and also a former Deputy Executive Director of CEANA. Mad. Vivian Newman a consistent donor to CEANA from New Jersey, Mad. Miriam Tsagli, member of Ewe Association of Washington DC Metro Inc and also a consistent donor to CEANA, Mad. Vasty Adonoo from the UK, a CEANA convention attendee, and donor. Dr. Tsoenam Akpeloo, chairman of the Greater Branch of Ghana Industries Association was also a speaker at the 2022, CEANA convention held in Houston, TX, and Mad. Margaret Kordowu. Mr. Steve Quashigah-a businessman and an entrepreneur based here in Ghana also joined the CEANA delegation.
The commissioning ceremony was chaired by Professor Emeritus Francis W. Y. Momade, lecturer at KNUST and a citizen of Adutor.

These four-unit ( 4) bedroom nurses’ staff quarters were solely funded by donations from individual donors to CEANA. As a matter of fact, all CEANA projects constructed across the Eweland in Ghana and Togo so far and thousands of scholarships awarded to needy students from Ghana, Togo and Benin have been funded by individual donations to CEANA over the years, who continue to do so, due to CEANA’s commitment to the socio-economic development of the Eweland in Ghana, Togo and Benin.
The commissioning of the Nurses Staff  Quarters for Adutor Health Clinic staff was well attended by Chiefs, Queen mothers and citizens of Adutor and the community at large. TV coverage was provided by Avenor TV and was streamed live on CEANA’s Facebook, YouTube and other social media platforms and watched by over 40,000 viewers across the world.

The following day Friday, February 24th, Dr. Tsatsu Nyamadi-President of CEANA led the same delegation to Agordoe to commission a beautiful pedestrian footbridge, which was also solely funded by CEANA.
This project was constructed by staff and students of the civil engineering faculty of Ho Technical University. The Vice-Chancellor Prof Hoenyenuga and other heads of the various faculties of Ho Technical University were present to firsthand over the completed constructed bridge to CEANA.
Mr. President, Togbui Agbelom, supported by the CEANA delegation and many Chiefs, Queen mothers, and citizens of the Akatsi traditional area were all present to witness this life-changing project for the people of Torve and other small villages that have to swim across the Torve river to access school, market and other needs of the villagers.

Once again, Avenor TV provided TV coverage and streamed the event live on CEANA’s Facebook and YouTube to thousands of viewers across the globe.

Dr. Tsatsu Nyamadi emphasized during the commissioning speech, the need for the community’s maintenance and upkeep of the various projects constructed by CEANA.
He was very thankful to the thousands of donors to CEANA over the years, whose contributions have made it possible for CEANA to continue its good works of providing very essential projects in the Eweland, intended to improve the lives of citizens and residents in these communities.
The president of CEANA also mentioned that CEANA has 3 more projects earmarked for development in the near term. Specifically, CEANA will renovate the EP Junior High School building at Peki-Dzake, the Construction of a Kindergarten (KG) Building at Dodome-Awuaisu, and construction of a computer library at Greater Kloto.

In conclusion, Dr. Tsatsu Nyamadi announced that the next CEANA annual convention will be held at Atlanta Georgia from August 31 – September 3, 2023 and urged all to attend in their numbers and come prepared to raise funds to support similar CEANA projects. The 2-day event was an overwhelming success, CEANA’s leadership is most grateful to all who directly participated in the commissioning of these historic two projects back-to-back and to all the organizers, volunteers and donors to CEANA, for making it all possible.
