Sankofa: Focus on Kofi Bugyei, someone you should know.

At a young age, Kofi Bugyei has been making the headlines with his personal achievements and an amazing progress as a child and later as a young man over the years. He was either eloquently reciting Bible verses at a tender age in the Church of the Ghanaian Community, COGCC, or stunningly renditioning the late President Nkrumah’s independence speech at Ghana’s Independence celebrations. He has exceptional talent in soccer, academic work, and other great personal achievements. Yesterday, May 15, 2022, he added another accolade to his achievements, ” The Little Wonderful Preacher of the word of God” when he took to the pulpit to preach in a youth contest organized by the Ohio/ Illinois District of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, redemption congregation. Though he was one point shy of winning, his remarkable performance left everyone who saw and heard him with nothing but great compliments. He was articulate and powerfully delivered his message on the topic, “Living in the Light of Christ”. He represented the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Redemption Congregation. The winner of the competition was Ewuraa Akua Addae from the Fairfield congregation, Cincinnati/ Ohio. The competition was organized to select one candidate to represent the district in an upcoming Presbytery contest, involving districts in the USA, Canada and Australia. The closeness of the first and second-placed candidates has created a headache for the Ohio / Chicago district leadership. Now they have the task of grooming both the first and second-placed candidates and picking one of them to represent the district. Four candidates contested in the competition.

The following prepared Kofi Bugyei for the contest. They are, Mrs. Christiana Osei Owusu, the Senior Presbyter of Redemption; Mr. Evans Yeboah Addo, Junior Youth Teacher and Miss Shirley Kissiedu, also Junior Youth Teacher.
