In a solemn demonstration of respect, unity and national recognition, the Bampoe-Addo and Allied Families, accompanied by leaders of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) and representatives of Organised Labour, yesterday paid a courtesy call on the Presidency at Jubilee House to formally present the final funeral arrangements for the late Dr. Isaac Akuetteh Bampoe-Addo and his twin brother, Sidney Nii Oko Bampoe-Addo.

The visit underscored the profound national significance attached to the passing of the twin brothers, whose deaths, occurring within weeks of each other, have left an immeasurable void in their family, professional circles and among countless friends and admirers across Ghana and the diaspora .

For many within Ghana’s public service landscape, the late Dr. Isaac Bampoe-Addo was more than a labour leader. As former Executive Secretary of CLOGSAG, he emerged as one of the most recognizable and influential voices advocating for civil and local government workers, championing improved conditions of service and defending the welfare of public sector employees throughout his distinguished career.

The loss became even more heartbreaking when his twin brother, Sidney Nii Oko Bampoe-Addo, passed away barely weeks after Dr. Bampoe-Addo’s death, compounding the grief of a family already struggling to come to terms with a devastating bereavement.

The twin brothers were also siblings of Deputy Chief of Staff Nana Oye Bampoe-Addo, making the tragedy one that has resonated at the highest levels of government and across Ghana’s political and public service communities.

A Farewell of National Importance

During the engagement at Jubilee House, family representatives and labour leaders officially informed the Presidency of the programme that has been prepared to celebrate the lives, service and enduring legacy of the departed brothers.

According to the funeral arrangements announced by the family, the burial service for both Isaac and Sidney Bampoe-Addo will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra.

Mourners will be afforded the opportunity to file past from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., followed by the burial service from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. Following the burial, final funeral rites will be held at the same venue from 12 noon to 5:00 p.m., with attendees expected to observe a white and black dress code.

A thanksgiving service is scheduled for Sunday, November 8, 2026, at Winners Chapel, North Industrial Area, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The programme will conclude with a thanksgiving reception at Accra Academy, Bubuashie, at 12 noon, where the colour code will be all white.

Organised Labour Mourns a Dedicated Advocate

The presence of CLOGSAG leadership and Organised Labour representatives at Jubilee House reflected the deep respect Dr. Isaac Bampoe-Addo commanded within Ghana’s labour movement.

Throughout his years of service, Dr. Bampoe-Addo played a central role in negotiations involving public sector workers and became a respected figure in discussions on labour welfare, public administration and employee rights. His contribution to the strengthening of organised labour remains an enduring part of his legacy.

As Ghana prepares to bid farewell to the Bampoe-Addo twins, tributes continue to pour in from colleagues, friends, public servants and members of the wider community who remember them not only for their professional accomplishments, but also for their commitment to family, faith and service.

The planned funeral ceremonies are expected to draw senior government officials, labour leaders, public servants, traditional authorities, religious leaders and sympathisers from across the country, all gathering to honour two lives whose journey, though ended on earth, has left an indelible mark on many.

In death, as in life, the story of Isaac and Sidney Bampoe-Addo remains one of brotherhood, service and enduring legacy, a testament to the impact that dedicated lives can have on family, community and nation.
