The second major initiative was the Ghana National Council’s business awards dinner dance, organized during Paa Kwasi’s administration at Chateau Del Mar. The event drew senior embassy officials, including Ambassador Hajia Aliu Mahama, alongside dignitaries such as Kennedy Agyapong and Arikana Chihombori‑Quao. It celebrated business excellence, strengthened institutional ties, and positioned GhanaFest weekend as a time for both recognition and strategic engagement.
These activities consistently took place on the Friday before GhanaFest, creating a rhythm in which business, diplomacy, and community services served as the official prelude to Saturday’s cultural festival. GN Bank’s full representation at GhanaFest, including on‑site account openings and service demonstrations, further cemented the connection between the pre‑festival forum and the festival itself. Embassy staff, after attending the awards dinner, remained in Chicago to run two days of passport processing, ensuring that community needs were met efficiently and directly.
