ACCRA — Fresh details emerged in court today as the prosecution advanced its case against Kwabena Adu-Boahene, accused of orchestrating major financial irregularities through BNC accounts.
Mildred Donkor, a key witness testifying on behalf of the state, presented a detailed breakdown of financial transactions allegedly authorized by the accused. According to her testimony, Adu-Boahene systematically transferred “huge sums of money” from a BNC account to various personal friends and commercial enterprises.
Among the notable beneficiaries named in court was Rashida Saani, the well-known proprietor of Alhaji’s Wife Waakye, a popular local eatery. Donkor’s testimony suggests a pattern of payouts that prosecutors argue strayed far beyond standard business transactions.
The defense is expected to cross-examine Donkor later this week as they seek to clarify the nature of these transfers and challenge the prosecution’s timeline.
More to follow as the trial develops.
