Men’s Health Month | Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month | National Migraine & Headache Awareness Month | Professional Wellness Month
Men’s Health Month
June is recognized as Men’s Health Month — a time to encourage men to prioritize prevention, early detection, and routine health screenings.
Many men delay care until symptoms become serious. Regular check-ups can help detect conditions early and improve long-term health outcomes.
Key areas of focus include:
- Blood pressure screening
- Diabetes screening
- Cholesterol monitoring
- Prostate health discussions
- Mental health support
- Healthy eating and physical activity
Men are encouraged to schedule routine visits, know their numbers, and speak openly with healthcare providers about their health concerns.

Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month
June is also Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about brain health, memory changes, dementia, and caregiver support.
Brain health is important at every age. While occasional forgetfulness can happen, ongoing memory problems, confusion, or changes in thinking should be discussed with a healthcare provider.
Ways to support brain health include:
- Staying physically active
- Eating a heart-healthy diet
- Managing blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol
- Staying socially connected
- Getting adequate sleep
- Keeping the mind active through reading, learning, and meaningful activities
Early recognition and support can make a meaningful difference for patients and families.
National Migraine & Headache Awareness Month
Migraine and chronic headaches can affect daily life, work, sleep, and overall well-being.
Headaches may be triggered by stress, dehydration, lack of sleep, certain foods, hormonal changes, or underlying health conditions.
Seek medical attention if headaches are:
- Sudden or severe
- Associated with weakness, confusion, vision changes, or difficulty speaking
- Increasing in frequency or intensity
- Occurring after head injury
- Interfering with daily activities
Healthy habits such as hydration, regular sleep, stress management, and identifying triggers can help reduce headache frequency.
Professional Wellness Month
Professional Wellness Month reminds us that work-related stress, burnout, and emotional exhaustion can affect overall health.
Wellness is not only physical — it also includes mental, emotional, and professional balance.
Ways to support professional wellness include:
- Taking regular breaks
- Setting healthy boundaries
- Asking for help when needed
- Prioritizing rest and recovery
- Practicing stress management
- Creating time for family, faith, and community
Caring for yourself allows you to better care for others.
