The Council of Ewe Associations of North America (CEANA) has commissioned a fully furnished library , Information and Communication Technology (ICT) laboratory for the Anloga community, delivering a major boost to education and digital literacy in the Volta Region.

The new facility, modern, spacious, and purpose-built, stands as a testament to CEANA’s enduring commitment to advancing quality education and expanding opportunities for Ewe communities across Eweland. It replaces a dilapidated structure that had long outlived its usefulness, posing safety concerns for learners and teachers.

The project was executed with strong collaboration from the Anloga Development Association of North America (ADANA), which equipped the ICT laboratory with computers and essential furnishings, ensuring the centre is ready for immediate use by students and community members.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, CEANA President ,Mr. William Kumah , described the project as a strategic investment in the human capital of Anloga.
“Education remains one of CEANA’s core priorities. When we committed to this project, our goal was to create a conducive environment where future leaders can learn, explore, and innovate. This library is not just a building,it is a gateway to knowledge for the entire community,” he said.
He reaffirmed CEANA’s dedication to supporting health and social intervention initiatives across Eweland, emphasizing that the organization’s development agenda is guided by the needs of the communities it serves.
The Anloga Chief Inspector of Schools, Togbi Dada III, welcomed the facility as a timely intervention, especially at a period when academic performance in the area has reportedly been declining. He urged school authorities, parents, and community leaders to ensure the centre is fully utilized to support teaching, learning, and skills development.
The Dufia of Anloga, Togbi Zewu IV, praised CEANA and ADANA for their foresight and generosity. He noted that the facility would help rekindle students’ interest in reading and research, even beyond school hours, ultimately contributing to the long-term development of the community.
“The future we aspire to is within reach. Knowledge gained through reading drives national development, and with this facility, Anloga is on a promising path,” he remarked. He also pledged to safeguard the infrastructure to ensure it benefits generations to come.
Keta Municipal Librarian, Ms.Dela Odamson, expressed gratitude for the partnership and highlighted the transformative role the new centre will play in expanding access to educational resources across the municipality. She announced plans to introduce literacy programs, digital skills training, and community engagement activities to maximize the facility’s impact.
The commissioning of the library and ICT laboratory marks yet another milestone in CEANA’s mission to uplift Ewe communities through sustainable development, collaboration, and shared responsibility.
