The Council of Ewe Associations of North America (CEANA) is preparing to usher in a defining moment for the global Ewe community with the official launch of the CEANA 2026 Convention. The ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in Ho, Volta Region, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. It promises to be a gathering that blends heritage, leadership, and a renewed commitment to development across Eweland.
The launch will bring together traditional authorities, government officials, development partners, and community leaders in a rare convergence of influence and purpose. Their presence underscores the significance of CEANA’s mission and the growing recognition of the diaspora’s role in shaping the future of Ghana, Togo, and Benin. This event marks the beginning of a year-long journey toward the CEANA 2026 Convention, which will take place from September 3–7, 2026, in Bethesda, Maryland. The Convention will highlight culture, service, and sustainable development, reinforcing CEANA’s longstanding dedication to uplifting communities both at home and abroad.

The program for the launch includes welcome remarks from CEANA leadership, recognition of distinguished guests, the screening of a CEANA documentary chronicling decades of impact, cultural performances that showcase the vibrancy of Ewe identity, fundraising activities in support of CEANA 2026 initiatives, and a reception designed to foster networking and collaboration. Each element of the event has been carefully curated to inspire unity, celebrate progress, and set the tone for a transformative Convention year.
Speaking ahead of the ceremony, CEANA President, William Edem Kumah , emphasized the importance of this moment for Ewes across the diaspora and the subregion. He described the launch as a unifying force that strengthens cultural identity and deepens collective commitment to development. “This gathering sets the tone for a transformative Convention year, one that strengthens our cultural identity and deepens our collective commitment to development,” he said, capturing the spirit of anticipation surrounding the event.
CEANA is extending an open invitation to stakeholders, partners, and the general public to join this historic occasion in Ho. The launch is more than a ceremonial beginning; it is a reaffirmation of identity, a celebration of community, and a renewed pledge to uplift Eweland through collaboration, service, and shared purpose.
