In honor of International Women’s Day, the women of the Church of the Ghanaian Community of Chicago gathered yesterday, March 7, 2026, for an unforgettable all‑ladies brunch. It was an afternoon overflowing with unity, laughter, and the kind of sisterhood that strengthens a community.

From the moment the first women walked in, the atmosphere shifted. It was warm, vibrant, and alive, stories being shared across tables, jokes flying from corner to corner, and laughter rising like a chorus. It wasn’t just a brunch; it was a celebration of womanhood, resilience, and the unbreakable bond that ties these women together.
They came to fellowship.
They came to uplift one another.
They came to remind themselves, and each other, that when women stand together, they create spaces where joy thrives and strength multiplies.
Yesterday’s gathering was a powerful reminder that community is built not only in the sanctuary, but also around shared meals, shared stories, and shared purpose. As they celebrated International Women’s Day, they also celebrated themselves: mothers, sisters, leaders, caregivers, and pillars of the church.
A beautiful moment.
A beautiful gathering.
A beautiful sisterhood.
And the message was clear: when women unite, the whole community rises.
In fact, the joy was so contagious that the attendees declared, with laughter, applause, and unanimous excitement , that this kind of gathering must become a regular occurrence and tradition.
