Anlo Senior High School (ANSECO) has entered a new chapter of relief and renewed optimism as the long‑awaited multi‑purpose dining hall, first initiated in 2012, has finally been completed and officially handed over to the school. The ceremony, held in early February 2026, was led by the District Chief Executive for Anloga, Ms. Sandra Seyram Kpedor, accompanied by the District Director of Education and a team of technical officers.
The new facility, fully funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), is designed to significantly improve student welfare and strengthen the school’s infrastructure after years of overcrowding and inadequate dining conditions. The project includes a spacious dining hall, modern storage facilities, and flexible space that can support multiple school functions.
For many in the ANSECO family , the handover marks the end of a long and frustrating wait. What began as a hopeful project in 2012 became a symbol of stalled development, until now.
Speaking at the ceremony, DCE Kpedor emphasized the importance of safeguarding the investment. She urged school authorities to adopt a strict maintenance culture to ensure the facility serves generations of students.
“This dining hall is not just a building, it is a commitment to the wellbeing of our young people,” she said. “We expect management to take excellent care of it so that it fulfills its purpose for students and the wider school community.”
The District Director of Education echoed the sentiment, noting that improved infrastructure directly enhances teaching, learning, and discipline. With ANSECO’s growing student population, the new dining hall is expected to ease congestion, improve hygiene, and create a more organized environment for daily school operations.
Students and staff expressed excitement and relief, describing the facility as a “game changer” for the school’s daily routines. For years, makeshift arrangements and limited space had forced the school to improvise, often at the expense of comfort and efficiency.
The completion of the project also highlights GETFund’s ongoing role in addressing infrastructure deficits across Ghana’s educational institutions. As schools continue to grapple with rising enrollment and aging facilities, such investments remain critical to sustaining quality education.
