The Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department, COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, has officially intervened in the recent wave of student violence involving Swedru School of Business and Obrachire Senior High Technical School. During a high-level engagement with the management of both institutions, COP Donkor issued a stern 24-hour ultimatum to the leadership of Swedru School of Business to produce all students captured in the violent incident to assist with ongoing police inquiries.

This meeting was convened as a direct response to the public outcry surrounding the clash, which left at least one victim hospitalized. COP Donkor emphasized that while the victim is currently responding to treatment, the gravity of the violence cannot be overlooked, noting that formal investigations have commenced to establish the full circumstances and identify every individual connected to the breach of peace.

The Director-General stressed that swift compliance with the directive to produce the suspects is essential for a thorough and transparent handling of the case.
She warned of the serious legal and academic consequences facing the involved students, underscoring that the Ghana Police Service remains committed to maintaining law and order within educational environments.

Throughout the engagement, she urged all stakeholders to remain calm and cooperative, reaffirming that the police will ensure full accountability to prevent a recurrence of such hostilities.

The move signals a heightened effort by the police administration to promote safety and discipline within the nation’s second-cycle institutions.
