Abor Senior High School yesterday, February 21,2026, etched a new chapter in its storied history as the institution celebrated its 60th Anniversary with a grand durbar that brought together national leaders, traditional authorities, alumni, and the proud community of Abor. It was a moment that blended heritage, achievement, and renewed purpose, befitting a school whose impact has shaped generations.
Held on the school campus under the theme “60 Years of Impactful Journey: Providing Transformative Secondary Education Through Indigenous Values and 21st Century Skills,” the celebration captured the essence of ABORSCO’s mission: honouring its roots while preparing students for a rapidly evolving world.
The ceremony was graced by the distinguished presence of Torgbui Tengey Dzokoto Gligui VII, who chaired the event with the dignity and cultural authority that have long anchored the school’s relationship with the traditional leadership of Abor. His guidance set the tone for a day that celebrated both legacy and aspiration.
The durbar also welcomed an impressive assembly of national figures whose participation underscored ABORSCO’s influence beyond the Volta Region. Among them was one of the school’s most illustrious sons, Hon. Bernard Ahiafor, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament and Member of Parliament for Akatsi South. Other dignitaries included Hon. John Dumelo, Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture and MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon; Hon. James Gunu, Volta Regional Minister; Hon. Dzidzorli Gakpey, MP for Keta; and Hon. Wisdom Bondzie Seade, Municipal Chief Executive for Keta.
