The Government of Ghana has confirmed a disturbing terrorist incident involving a truck transporting Ghanaian tomato traders in Titao, Burkina Faso, on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
According to an official statement issued Sunday by the Minister for the Interior and National Security, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, the vehicle was caught in the violence as it traveled through the neighboring country.
The Ghana Embassy in Burkina Faso is currently coordinating with local authorities to access the site of the attack to gather further details and identify the Ghanaian nationals involved.
While the extent of the casualties or injuries remains unconfirmed, the government has assured the public that the embassy is working urgently to provide clarity on the situation.
Minister Mohammed-Mubarak stated that additional information will be communicated as the investigation develops and more facts become available.
