Steel prices in Ghana are set to remain stable following a commitment from industry leaders and the intervention of the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry. During a meeting held on Friday, January 23, 2026, steel manufacturers assured the public that there would be no price hikes for steel products, citing the current stability of the Cedi and various government interventions as key factors in their decision.

Speaking on behalf of the industry association at the Ministry’s Conference Room in Accra, the Chairman of B5 Plus LTD, Mr. Mike Thakwani, stated that despite several operational challenges facing the sector, manufacturers are committed to maintaining current price levels. He further guaranteed that steel products would remain readily available in markets nationwide, emphasizing the industry’s dedication to supporting national economic initiatives.
The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, commended the producers for their role in national development and their willingness to prioritize economic stability. Addressing the concerns raised by the association regarding operational hurdles, the Minister noted that the government has taken note of their requests and is prepared to implement necessary measures to support the sector.
She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to a close partnership with manufacturers to ensure the long-term growth and sustainability of Ghana’s steel industry.
