Foreign Minister Commends Outgoing Chinese Ambassador for Strengthening Bilateral Ties

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), received the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Tong Defa, for a farewell call on Friday, January 16, 2026. The meeting, held at the Ministry, marked the conclusion of the Ambassador’s diplomatic tour of duty in Ghana. During the engagement, Minister Ablakwa reflected on the historic and cordial relations between the two nations, praising Ambassador Tong for his proactive role in expanding the scope of bilateral cooperation throughout his tenure.

In his remarks, the Minister highlighted China’s consistent support for Ghana’s national development, particularly in the sectors of infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, and trade.
