In a season of renewed purpose and strengthened unity across the Ewe diaspora, the Council of Ewe Associations of North America (CEANA) has elected a financial leader whose career, character, and commitment stand as a model of disciplined service. Mr. Frank Sena Kploanyi, CPA, MBA, brings to CEANA more than three decades of high‑level financial leadership, rooted in integrity, sharpened by experience, and guided by a deep devotion to community uplift. For an organization whose development agenda spans education, healthcare, cultural preservation, and humanitarian outreach, the election of a Treasurer with Mr. Kploanyi’s pedigree is not just timely, it is transformational.

From New York’s major healthcare institutions to nationally recognized nonprofit organizations, Mr. Kploanyi has spent over 20 years shaping financial systems that protect resources, strengthen governance, and ensure long‑term sustainability. Currently serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at VIP Community Services in the Bronx, he oversees comprehensive financial reporting, multi‑million‑dollar operating and capital budgets, federal and state grant management, regulatory compliance, internal controls, payroll, billing, treasury operations, and organizational audits. His leadership has helped stabilize and grow complex healthcare systems, ensuring that vulnerable communities receive the services they depend on.

Before joining VIP Community Services, he held senior leadership roles at some of New York’s most respected institutions. At Northwell Health’s Staten Island University Hospital, he managed the financial operations of more than forty physician practices with budgets exceeding $200 million, conducted acquisition assessments, and developed compensation models benchmarked against national standards. At Morris Heights Health Center, he supervised all financial functions for a multi‑site Federally Qualified Health Center, managed over $20 million in grants, and led major systems conversions that improved efficiency and reduced costs. At the 1199 SEIU Training & Employment Fund, he directed the finances of eight multi‑employer benefit funds with combined budgets of over $150 million, managed more than $300 million in grants, and implemented cash‑management systems that improved liquidity by 30%. Earlier in his career, at Beth Israel Medical Center and the Postgraduate Center for Mental Health, he oversaw hospital financial operations, managed audits, developed long‑range financial plans, and redesigned benefit systems that reduced costs while improving service delivery. Across every institution, one theme emerges: Frank Kploanyi leaves organizations stronger than he found them.

His academic and professional credentials reflect the same level of excellence. He holds an MBA from Pace University’s Lubin School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Ghana, Legon. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. For nearly two decades, he served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Accounting and Auditing at CUNY York College, shaping the next generation of financial professionals with the rigor and discipline that define his own career.

Beyond his technical mastery, Mr. Kploanyi brings something even more valuable to CEANA: a heart for service and a deep understanding of the Ewe community’s aspirations. His leadership style is marked by transparency, accountability, strategic foresight, collaborative problem‑solving, and compassion for the communities he serves. These qualities make him uniquely positioned to steward CEANA’s finances at a time when the organization is expanding its development projects, strengthening its scholarship programs, and preparing for a new era of growth.

With Mr. Kploanyi as Treasurer‑Elect, CEANA gains a guardian of financial integrity, a strategist capable of navigating complex funding environments, a seasoned executive who understands nonprofit governance, a teacher and mentor, and a leader committed to transparency and community trust. His election signals CEANA’s commitment to excellence, accountability, and visionary leadership.

As CEANA prepares for its upcoming convention this Labor Day weekend, the organization stands on the threshold of a new chapter, one where financial discipline and strategic planning will be essential to sustaining its mission across North America and Eweland. With Frank Kploanyi, CPA, MBA, at the helm of its financial stewardship, CEANA is not only in capable hands, it is positioned for a future defined by stability, innovation, and responsible growth.
