President John Dramani Mahama is set to represent Ghana at the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, scheduled to take place from January 19 to 23, 2026. The President departed Accra earlier this week for a diplomatic tour that included high-level coordination meetings in the United Kingdom regarding his administration’s “Accra Reset Initiative” before proceeding to the summit in the Swiss Alps.
This year’s gathering, held under the theme “A Spirit of Dialogue,” convenes a record number of heads of state, CEOs, and civil society leaders to address what organizers describe as the most complex geopolitical backdrop in decades. The 2026 program is built around five defining global challenges: navigating a divided geopolitical landscape, unlocking new sources of economic growth, investing in human capital, deploying innovation responsibly, and building prosperity within planetary boundaries.
During the five-day summit, President Mahama is expected to participate in key sessions focusing on African economic resilience and the role of the Global South in international trade. The Presidency has indicated that the visit will also serve as a platform for bilateral meetings with other world leaders and global investors to strengthen Ghana’s international partnerships and advance national development priorities.
