The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has conducted an on-site inspection of the documentation and body inspection phase of the Ghana Police Service recruitment exercise in the Greater Accra Region, where he issued a stern warning that the ministry will not compromise on the integrity of the process.
During his visit to key screening venues, including the Ghana Police Church and the National Police Training Academy, the Minister observed the structured and efficient processing of applicants in scheduled sessions designed to reduce congestion. While commending the orderly execution of the exercise, Alhaji Muntaka emphasized that recruitment into the security services remains strictly merit-based and entirely free of charge.
Addressing both personnel and applicants, the Minister cautioned against any form of misconduct and urged applicants to avoid paying money to anyone claiming to have influence over the recruitment outcome. He revealed that authorities are monitoring the process with “eagle eyes” and have already begun making arrests to deter fraudulent activities.
Alhaji Muntaka reiterated the Ministry of the Interior’s commitment to transparency and accountability, urging recruitment officials to maintain high standards of integrity as the process moves into physical fitness tests and medical examinations.
The visit underscores the government’s dedication to building robust security institutions through a fair and transparent selection process.
