The Presidential Election Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) paid a courtesy call on former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo yesterday, presenting a comprehensive report on its preparations toward the Party’s upcoming Presidential Primary slated for Saturday, January 31.
During the meeting, the Committee detailed the scope of work undertaken since its inauguration, outlining the systems, safeguards, and operational structures put in place to ensure a credible and seamless internal election. According to the Committee, every stage of the process has been guided by a strict commitment to transparency and a zero‑tolerance stance on opacity, principles they say are essential to protecting the integrity of the Party’s democratic tradition.
Chairman of the NPP Presidential Election Committee, Joseph Osei-Owusu, expressed confidence in the Committee’s readiness, noting that all logistical, procedural, and regulatory frameworks have been finalized. He emphasized that the Committee has worked diligently to uphold the sanctity of the electoral process and to guarantee a level playing field for all aspirants.
The engagement with the former President forms part of the Committee’s broader consultations with key stakeholders as the Party prepares for a decisive moment in its leadership journey.
