
The Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has officially announced the commencement of construction for a new Regional Hospital in the Western North Region as part of a comprehensive stakeholder engagement tour during the festive season. The announcement was made during the first leg of his visit, which included stops in Bibiani, Sefwi Wiawso, Asawinso, and Bodi to discuss local development and healthcare priorities.
Throughout the engagement, Hon. Akandoh held high-level meetings with a diverse group of regional leaders, including commanders of the security services, traditional authorities, Members of Parliament, and heads of various government agencies. The Minister highlighted that the new hospital project is designed to drastically improve healthcare access and the quality of medical services available to residents across the region.

Addressing the assembled stakeholders, Mr. Akandoh noted that the expansion of health infrastructure is a direct reflection of the President’s commitment to the sector. He emphasized that the national government continues to prioritize health development by providing the essential resources and support required to modernize healthcare delivery nationwide.
In response to the visit, local leaders and political representatives expressed their gratitude to the Minister for his hands-on approach. The stakeholders commended his ongoing dedication to the Western North Region and praised the initiative to bolster the area’s medical infrastructure, viewing the new hospital as a vital step toward sustainable regional growth.
