The Accra College of Medicine (ACM) celebrated its 10th anniversary and 6th Congregation Ceremony with a major event this past weekend. A Guest of Honour addressed graduates and stakeholders, commending the institution for its decade of progress in medical education and its commitment to shaping highly competent doctors serving hospitals and communities across Ghana.
The speaker praised the College’s effort to expand opportunities for students and its notable investments in technological advancement. Marking the milestone, the Guest of Honour stressed that as the world faces new health crises, from pandemics to shifting disease patterns, the role of medical professionals is more critical than ever. The institution was charged with ensuring its next decade focuses on expanding its reach, deepening its impact, and leading with purpose.
Addressing the graduating class, the speaker held up their achievements as a testament to the College’s founding vision, noting that their dedication has shaped both their intellect and character. Graduates were strongly urged to carry their skills into underserved communities where their expertise is most needed, and to prioritize duty above personal convenience.
They were reminded that every choice must reflect the core values instilled by ACM: empathy, compassion, integrity, and dedication to service. The address concluded by affirming that education remains a sacred tool for national development, expressing anticipation for the College’s continued journey and the lives it will transform.
