By Effah Ameyaw
President-Elect, Ghana National Council (GNC)
In the wake of a spirited election season, President-Elect Effah Ameyaw has issued a heartfelt message to the Ghanaian community, emphasizing unity, respect, and a shared commitment to progress.
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you,” Ameyaw begins, acknowledging the passion and participation that defined the recent elections. “This election was not about winners or losers. It was about vision. It was about service. And it was about the collective will of a people determined to shape their own future.”
Ameyaw’s statement comes amid ongoing commentary and conversations surrounding the election outcome. Rather than defend, he chooses to affirm the values that bind the community together.
He offers particular praise for Dr. Cromwell, a fellow leader whose contributions remain essential to the GNC’s mission. “Dr. Cromwell is a focused, capable leader,” Ameyaw affirms. “To reduce her role to anything less is not only unfair, but a disservice to the very values we claim to uphold: respect, dignity, and unity.”
Ameyaw also addresses the troubling rise of divisive narratives, particularly those that seek to fracture the community along ethnic lines. “Let us be clear,” he states. “Any narrative that seeks to divide us must be rejected. We are stronger than that. And we are better than that.”
Calling for responsible leadership and media stewardship, Ameyaw urges all platforms and voices to refrain from amplifying discord. “They do not serve our growth,” he explains . “I plead with our leaders, those with powerful voices and respected platforms, to use them to uplift, to unify, and to guide us toward the future we all deserve.”
His message is ultimately one of hope and collective responsibility. “The next chapter of our community’s story is not one that will be written by one person alone, but by all of us together,” he writes. “Let us silence the voices that seek to fracture what we have built. And let us walk forward, hand in hand, toward a future where every voice is valued, every leader is respected, and every effort is made in service of the greater good.”
With humility and hope, Effah Ameyaw reminds the Ghanaian diaspora: “We are a community that works together.”

Life. Kakape you see all the dirty things Berko was writing on the platform but you didn’t raise a finger . U even went to his house to celebrate your win . Now I think you need her help seriously. Right on . Why are u talking to the community. Talk to your friend who is the insulter in chief .
Now flyer degrees matter . Her alien status don’t matter anymore. Hmmmmmmmmm.
Congratulations to you bro. I like your speech seeking to promote unity amongst yourselves. You need to set up a reconciliation commission to address the divisiveness. It’s too obvious. Address if not it will hunt you.
