Accra, Ghana – Majority Leader Hon. Mahama Ayariga and Minority Leader Osahen Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin today held a joint media briefing to outline the schedule and priorities for the upcoming Third Meeting of the First Session of Parliament. The briefing provided journalists with details on the legislative agenda, while also offering a forum to address broader socio-political concerns affecting Parliament and the government.

A key highlight anticipated during this Third Meeting is the presentation of the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy. The Finance Minister, Hon. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, is scheduled to present this crucial document to the House in Mid-November. Furthermore, the media engaged the leaders on several pending government policies and programs, alongside motions and agreements that remained unresolved and unapproved during the preceding Second Meeting.

The session was attended by the Deputy Leaders from both the Majority and Minority Caucuses, alongside Deputy Clerks and Directors from Parliament’s Information Management Service (IMS), underscoring the importance placed on communicating the legislative roadmap to the public. The briefing served as an opportunity to manage expectations regarding the legislative work ahead and address immediate public interest issues.
