Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo held a breakfast meeting this morning with the five presidential aspirants vying for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) nomination for the 2028 elections.
The meeting was convened after the aspirants concluded the internal processes making them eligible to contest for the party’s nomination. President Akufo-Addo stated the purpose was to deliberate on matters of mutual interest concerning the unity, welfare, and strength of the NPP amidst the internal contest.
The President extended thanks to all attendees for honoring his invitation and for the candid and amicable spirit demonstrated during their discussions. Those present included aspirants Ken Ohene Agyapong, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, MP, H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, MP, and Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong. Also present were the Minority Leader, Osahen Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, MP, the former Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, and key party leadership: Hackman Owusu Agyeman, Chairman of the Council of Elders, Mr. Danquah Smith Buttey, Acting Chairman, and Mr. Justin Kodua Frimpong, General Secretary.
