ACCRA, October 3, 2025 – The Government of the Republic of Ghana has formally endorsed U.S. President Donald J. Trump’s newly unveiled 20-point peace plan intended to bring the devastating war in Gaza to an end. In a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the West African nation welcomed the proposal as “groundbreaking,” expressing profound hope that it would alleviate the immense suffering and loss of human lives caused by the protracted conflict. Ghana views the comprehensive nature of the plan as a significant and welcome development that addresses several critical facets of the crisis, offering a tangible path to relieve suffering civilians.
The Ghanaian government highlighted that the peace initiative addresses key concerns, including ending the hostilities, orchestrating the massive rebuilding of Gaza, actively preventing the annexation and displacement of the Palestinian people, and advancing a comprehensive peace process. It is the expressed hope of Accra that this initiative will establish a viable pathway for achieving a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace. Crucially, this pathway is envisioned to facilitate a future where the States of Israel and Palestine can exist side-by-side in harmony and security.
To bolster the prospects of the plan’s success, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that Ghana is prepared to engage with all international partners to foster dialogue and understanding. The government’s goal is to play a constructive role in revitalizing the long-stalled Middle East Peace Process. Furthermore, Ghana issued a direct appeal to all factions involved in the conflict, urging them to commit to this historic peace proposal and seize the opportunity to establish lasting stability in the region.
