Azumah Resources Denies E&P Takeover of Gold Projects, Threatens International Arbitration

Accra, Ghana — Azumah Resources Ghana Limited has strongly refuted claims that Engineers & Planners (E&P) has taken control of its Black Volta and Sankofa gold projects. In a statement today, Azumah Ghana labeled the reports as “false and without any legal basis,” asserting that it remains the lawful owner and operator of the projects. The company stated that no shares have been transferred to E&P.

The denial comes just days after Engineers and Planners E&P reportedly abandoned its claims against Azumah Ghana, a development that was widely seen as a resolution paving the way for Azumah Ghana to begin project development.

According to Azumah Ghana, this new action by E&P directly contradicts the recent resolution, which was praised by Ghana’s Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, at the Africa Down Under conference in Australia.

Azumah Ghana claims the alleged seizure undermines the minister’s message of stability and casts doubt on Ghana’s ability to guarantee the rule of law.

Prof. Prince Amponsah, Chairman of Azumah Ghana, called the reports “false information designed to confuse the public.” He emphasized that the company is the rightful owner of the projects and is now focused on moving into development, which is expected to bring over US$100 million in investment and create thousands of jobs for the Upper West Region.

Azumah Ghana warned that any such transfer would amount to an expropriation of private property, potentially exposing the Government of Ghana to claims exceeding US$1 billion under both Ghanaian law and international treaties.

The company’s projects are projected to create over 1,000 construction jobs and 420 permanent roles, making them a significant economic driver for the region.
