The Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) Team has clarified how aggregates for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) are calculated for senior high school placement. According to a statement from the Ministry of Education, a student’s aggregate is determined by summing the grades from the four core subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science, and Social Studies. This is then combined with the grades from the best two of the remaining subjects a student took.

The ministry emphasized that while raw scores are the primary metric for school placement, the aggregate also plays a significant role in the CSSPS process. The statement also announced that the CSSPS portal is now live and students are encouraged to log in at https://www.cssps.gov.gh/hub/login to confirm their school choices.

The ministry urged students and parents to use the “Message” option on the portal to report any concerns or discrepancies. The CSSPS team is available 24/7 to provide support. The portal will remain active until September 8, 2025.
