Dallas, Texas—Since its inception, CEANA has stood as a beacon of cultural preservation and diasporic unity. From the early gatherings in modest halls to today’s grand conventions, the Council has woven a tapestry of resilience, advocacy, and intergenerational dialogue. CEANA 2025 is not merely an event, it is the latest chapter in a living legacy.
The drums of heritage are beating once more, and the call has been answered. The Council of Ewe Associations of North America (CEANA) is poised to host its 2025 Convention in the heart of the Lone Star State, from August 28th to September 1st, at the Sheraton DFW Airport Hotel, 4440 West John Carpenter Freeway. What awaits is not merely a gathering, it is a symphony of culture, intellect, and purpose.
This year’s theme, “Our Health, Our Wealth,” is both a declaration and a charge. Under the visionary leadership of Dr. Tsatsu Nyamadi, CEANA President, and in collaboration with the dynamic Ewe Association of Dallas led by Mr. Winfred Kobla Gbedemah, CEANA’s 2nd Vice President, the convention promises to be a landmark celebration of unity and progress.
A Constellation of Dignitaries
The convention’s Guest of Honor is none other than Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, a statesman whose presence signals the gravity of the moment. Delivering the keynote address will be Dr. Kenneth Afenya, whose insights are expected to inspire and galvanize.
Joining them are a distinguished roster of Ghanaian luminaries:
- Hon. Rockson-Nelson Etse Dafeamekpor, MP for South-Dayi and Majority Whip
- Hon. Emmanuel Bedzrah, MP for Ho West and Board Chairman of GETFUND
- Dr. Johnson Pandit Asiama, Governor of the Bank of Ghana
- H.E. Gabriel Kwabla Tanko Kwamigah-Atokple, Member of Ghana’s Council of State
- Torgbui Agbelom Agbotokor II, Chief of Salo and CEANA’s Representative in Eweland
- Hon. Daniel Agboka Dzegede, Regional Director of GIPC for Volta and Oti, and Executive Director of the Volta Development Forum
The Pulse of the Convention
Anchoring the festivities will be Efo Steve Dei, CEANA’s charismatic Public Relations Officer, joined by the regal Mama Sedudzi (Empress Mawusi). Together, they will guide attendees through a weekend rich in tradition, dialogue, and celebration.
And yes, the legend himself, Agboti Yawo Mawunam, has already arrived in Dallas. His live performances throughout the convention will be nothing short of electrifying, a living bridge between ancestral rhythm and contemporary joy.
