Ghanaian pastor and founder of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Dr. Mensa Otabil, has offered heartfelt prayers for the families of the eight individuals who died in a tragic military helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6. During the 2025 Greater Works Conference in Accra, Dr. Otabil led thousands of worshippers in a moment of intercession, asking God to comfort the bereaved.
Dr. Otabil prayed for the Holy Spirit to enter the homes of the affected families and breathe life into them during this difficult time. The helicopter crash, which occurred in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region, has plunged the nation into mourning. The victims include Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, and other notable figures.
The government has directed that national flags be flown at half-mast, and tributes continue to pour in from across Ghana and beyond. Dr. Otabil’s prayers were a moment of solace for the nation as people come together to mourn the loss of the eight individuals.
