
The Parliamentary Caucus has extended its deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of eight individuals who tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash on August 6, 2025, in the Adansi Akrofuom District of Ghana’s Ashanti Region. The victims include Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, and other notable figures.
The Majority Leader and Leader of Government Business, Mahama Ayariga, described the incident as a devastating blow to Parliament, the Government, the Armed Forces, and the nation. He praised the victims for their dedication to serving the nation and expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
The Parliamentary Caucus joins the President and Ghanaians in mourning the loss of these distinguished individuals, whose sacrifice, patriotism, and commitment to duty will be remembered in the nation’s history.
