Accra, Ghana :The Black Queens were celebrated in Parliament today following their impressive third-place finish at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
During an official visit to the House, the Minister for Youth and Sports, Honourable Kofi Adams, delivered a statement formally congratulating the team on their remarkable achievement and commending them for elevating Ghana’s profile on the continental stage.
The Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, alongside the Minority caucus, presented a cash gift of GHS 100,000 to the team, recognizing their outstanding performance and the national pride they inspired.
Members of Parliament, in their congratulatory messages, reiterated the importance of establishing a tangible national investment fund for the team and for the country’s sports sector as a whole.
